Zetas On The Run, Expelled From Tamaulipas By Rival Gulf Cartel

Gulf Cartel pushing Los Zetas out of Tamaulipas, according to state and Mexican federal authorities

Tamaulipas, Mexico (HNNUSA) - State and Mexican federal authorities have confirmed that the Zeta Cartel virtually no longer operates or have any influence in the state of Tamaulipas. Authorities suspect mercenaries hired by the Gulf Cartel have been able to eliminate the Zeta treat in the region.
The Gulf Cartel seems to have become popular within the communities and business sectors. Los Zetas were known to extort money for protection from businesses, taxi drivers and restaurants. They tortured, killed and beheaded rivals and law enforcement officials.
The Gulf Cartel vice versa doesn't extort money for protection, but seeks out Zeta rivals and eliminates them. The popular Gulf drug cartel solely traffics and smuggles drugs into the U.S., according to Mexican federal authorities.
The Gulf Cartel seems to have Los Zetas on the run and they have doubled back to regroup in Reynosa, Nuevo Laredo, Carmargo and Monterrey where they are considered more organized, deadly and profitable by extorting businesses, kidnappings and trafficking drugs such as marijuana and cocaine into the U.S.
Last week, the 18 day Tampico Fair was canceled after shots by drug cartel rivals were fired inside the fair and 7 people were killed at the table dance Mirage Nightclub on April 2. The Mexican army evacuated about 18,000 people from the fair shortly after 11:00 p.m. on Friday. On Sunday, the Radiorama group, which are the main sponsors of the event sent out cancelation notices to all the vendors at the event. The notice stated, they had officially cancel the seven remaining days of the fair. The fair for the first time in 50 years had been shut down, the 7 reported homicides, shots fired inside the fair and security reasons led to the cancelation of the fair, according to the vendors.
Since last weekend drug cartel feud and homicides, all the businesses and restaurants located at the Carpenter Lagoon area began closing early until further notice.
