Mexico City, Mexico - On Tuesday, the Mexican Attorney General's Office (PGR) and the Federal Secretary for Public Security announced that intelligence and information provide by eight men and one woman in custody could lead to the capture of the two top leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel. The suspects worked directly with El Chapo in the state of Nayarit, according to Luis Cárdenas Palomino, Chief of Federal Police and Security Division in the region.
The nine suspects were arrested in three separate federal operations in municipalities of Xalisco and Tepic last Sunday. The suspects were able to cooperate with federal investigators. The suspects told police that they worked directly with Joaquín Guzmán "El Chapo" Loera and  Ignacio “Nacho Coronel” or Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada in Nayarit.
The leader of the group arrested, Jorge Antonio Arias Flores, aka, “El Guacho,” colaborated the information and confessed they were members of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Palomino says, the information could very well pin point where both El Chapo and El Mayo have been hiding and directing the Sinaloa Cartel operations.
Since Sunday, Federal police, the military police, the marines and other law enforcement agencies have been deployed to an undisclosed area in Nayarit to seal it off and finally attempt to capture both alleged Sinaloa Cartel drug lords.
