Milwaukee- On Sunday, the United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS) Corporate, 2701 S. Chase Ave. sponsored SpringFest 2011 suffered a mild setback when organizers decided to shut down the festival at 4:00 p.m. due to early rain showers, gusty winds, lighting and thunderstorms. This years' SpringFest resulted by moving the Cinco de Mayo festival from early May due to projected bad weather and then rescheduling it for May 29 hoping favorable weather conditions would result.
On early afternoon, the wet weather conditions kept the expected crowds away and organizers shut down the event. The festival began around noon and was expected to end at 10:00 p.m.
Despite the weather, food venders offered enchiladas, quesadillas, tortas, tacos, and beverages until 3:30 p.m. and the music end shortly after. UMOS beer sales totalled about $100, according to organizers.
