Santa Cruz Hells Angels Enforcer Killed During Pettigrew's Funeral

Dispute between bikers at Hells Angels funeral turns deadly.

San Jose, California - On Saturday, the sergeant-at-arms of the Santa Cruz Hells Angels chapter Steve Tausan, 52, aka, "187" was fatally shot during a funeral. Tausan was attending the San Jose chapter president Jeffrey "Jethro" Pettigrew's funeral when he got into a heated argument and punched a fellow biker. The biker in response then shot Tausan just before 1:00 p.m. Tausan was pronounced dead around 1:44 p.m. at a nearby hospital, according to Jose Garcia, spokesperson for the San Jose Police Department. A suspect is being sought in Tausan's death.
Saturday's funeral had about 4,000 mourners, including members from numerous motorcycle clubs affiliated with the Hells Angels. There was a large police presence at the Oak Hill Memorial Park. Police continue to investigate Tausan's homicide.
Tausan operated the Steve Tausan Bail Bonds in San Jose.
Thousands of mourners were attending the funeral of Jeffrey "Jethro" Pettigrew, 51, president of the San Jose Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. On September 23, Pettigrew was fatally shot four times in the back inside the John Ascauga's Nugget Casino in Sparks, Nevada. Ernesto Manuel Gonzalez, 53, a rival member of the Vago's Motorcycle Club has been charged with Pettigrew's homicide.
