Round Lake Park, Illinois - Round Lake Park Police Chief George Filenko confirmed that Francisco "Panchito" Carranza, 36, of Island Lake had four times more alcohol than the legal limit allowed in his system, according to toxicology results that were released on Monday. Carranza, owner of Carranza's Insurance was killed on January 22 after he drove through the train crossing gates at Route 134 and Porter Drive and then into the tracks before getting struck by a train. Also killed was his 7-year-old daughter, Alyssa M. Carranza of Round Lake.
Chief Filenko says, an autopsy toxicology report indicates that Carranza had a .32, four times the legal alcohol concentration of .08 in his system. His daughter wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was found about 50 feet from the impact when a Metra train struck Carranza's Range Rover.
