Edinburg, Texas - The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers are investigating the homicide of Victor Manuel García, 26, whose remains were found around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday in several trash bags left along Ware Road and North 9 Mile Road near Edinburg. García of McAllen was considered a potential witness to a kidnapping in Pharr. He was sought since last Wednesday by police, but they weren't unable to locate him.
A woman was abducted from García's black Dodge Ram truck at N. Poinsettia Lane and Sioux Road by three men, one armed who fired a weapon on October 29. The suspects were in a white Ford F-150 truck with a rear silver gate and managed to block the woman on the road. Then, they force her into the white truck and fled, according to homicide investigators.
The woman has not been identified and the investigation is ongoing to locate the kidnappers, including the victim.
