14-year-old Unlicensed Female Driver Facing Charges For Causing Teen Death In Southside Vehicular Crash

A 14-year-old female driver was taken into custody after speeding, losing control and crashing into a tree killing a 14-year-old female passenger and causing injuring to a male and female passengers ages 15 on Sunday night.

Milwaukee, WI - On Sunday, Zaire S. Tellez, 14, was killed after she was ejected from a vehicle at the 2400 block of S.35th Street when it crashed into a tree. Another 14-year-old female who was driving the vehicle was taken into custody and is facing for driving without a license causing death and causing injury to a female and male passengers both ages 15.
According to Milwaukee police news release, the fatal crash happened around 8:35 p.m. on November 8 in the 2400 block of S. 35th Street. A 14-year-old female was driving a 2003 GMC Envoy north on S. 35th Street at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree. Tellez, a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver and two additional passengers, a 15-year-old male and a 15-year-old female, were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was not stolen and belonged to the family of one of the passengers. The driver was arrested for Operating Without an Operator's License Causing Death, according to police.
