Milwaukee, WI - On Monday, Terry Williams, 19, died from his injury suffered on Sunday when he was severely shot in the head while fleeing due to a traffic violation from a Milwaukee County Sheriff deputy SUV on Lincoln Memorial Drive. Williams and his girlfriend, Paula McEwen were shot in the vehicle that Williams was driving near the Northpoint Custard Stand by Bradford Beach. Family members confirmed that Williams was declared by a doctor as brain dead. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. identified the deputy involved in Sunday's shooting as Michael Truax, 32, a rookie who has been on the job less than year.
According to Sheriff Clarke Jr., Deputy Truax used deadly force on a vehicle being pursued by another deputy in a marked department SUV for a traffic violation that was fleeing at the time. Deputy Truax was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
A 9mm handgun was recovered from the scene, according to Sheriff Clarke Jr. When Deputy Truax shot Williams, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into two other vehicles on his right lane.
The lakefront area was crowed and luckily a stray bullet didn't kill an innocent bystander or kid in the immediate area.
